The treatment team at Kai Shin Clinic consists of industry-leading Addiction Medicine doctors, Psychiatrists, licensed alcohol and drug counselors, mental health counselors, and psychologists to provide comprehensive care and treatment of the whole person. Treatment programming consists of group and individual psychotherapy to help an individual meet personal treatment and recovery goals. We use evidence-based therapeutic approaches in both group and individual sessions.
Another significant aspect of our program is our industry-leading Addiction Medicine doctors and psychiatrists’ role in our programming. In addition to meeting with clients at the medical clinic each week, our doctors do a once-weekly lecture to explain the critical and often unexplained role biology plays in substance abuse.
Our program also offers comprehensive case management. All concerned parties such as parents and probation officers can be updated if proper releases are signed. Family sessions are also offered as a part of the program as well, as addiction is an issue that impacts the entire family system. When the client has identified a concerned 3rd party on intake, program staff will maintain bi-weekly and event-based contact.
Weekly individual sessions are a vital aspect of our program and are conducted weekly by the dually licensed therapist that performs the client’s daily groups. Weekly individual sessions help keep the client on track and help focus the client’s treatment experience.
Once enrolled in groups, clients have the option to take advantage of our flexible group schedule. This means that clients can attend any of the group offerings we have available that day.
We currently offer outpatient programming that ranges from:
Intensive Outpatient Treatment= 5 days per week, 3 hours per day.
Group is offered 5 times per day at our Glenroy Road Clinic.
Programming lasts 3 hours in length and is divided into an interactive lecture (psychoeducation and coping skills focus) and process group. Each portion lasts 90 minutes in length, with a 15-minute break in between. The program will provide small snacks and coffee.
Our program is designed with the latest information on addiction and co-occurring issues in mind. Our program is broken down into 12 overarching categories and addressed over 12 weeks.
